I felt lucky that they were so intent on feeding that they didn’t startle when I slipped onto the porch. I plan to share a few more images this winter from that splendid five minutes. And I am so glad that our garden can offer welcome food to these birds.

Great shot, Leslie. I was surprised when I went out with the dogs early this morning that cardinals were calling. They are not typically the birds I hear early, especially in winter. SO between that and this lovely photo, it must be a cardinal day! Beautiful.
