These Queen of the Night tulips were planted in our front garden, oh…ten years ago. They faded away, as tulips do, after several years. This year, such a surprise!, they returned, a bit shorter and smaller but still ravishing, and–amazingly–unmolested by rabbits. I am hoping to add a few more this fall to keep these gorgeous ladies company.
Oh, I know the heartbreak of that. For us, it is often rabbits. This year, I guess, they were otherwise engaged!
I am dazzled, too! Maybe it will find its way into a poem, one day.
I am so glad you like it, too, Barbara!
This is the joy of gardening, no?
That’s a nice surprise. I love the fringed edges and deep color. My poor tulips come up and just before they’re going to bloom the deer eat the buds! I never get to enjoy a tulip in my yard anymore!
This is one of the most exquisite flowers I’ve ever seen. It’s radiant. A starburst .
Thank you Leslie.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this lovely surprise visit with us. 🌷🌷🌷
Luminous and radiant! What a gift.
