This poem definitely brightened my day! Thank you for sharing.
And you just might see us in Winona on August 4–we are celebrating our 30th anniversary that day, and currently plans are fluid, but we will be near the river. For sure I will be in Winona to read at the Blue Heron on September 4! Best, Leslie
Hi, Leslie – Your postcards are always day brighteners – Today’s, however, awakened
the light side of my poetic self, as in:
VISION
Where there is no vision, history tells us folks will perish.
Such can’t be said of Northfield, Minn,
as viewed from within a night much cherished,
with street-side spectacles gazing down,
ensuring night-vision in ‘Ole’ town.
(Best to your family also, and perhaps we’ll see you on August 4th, at our sonnet awards event, @ 11:00 in Miller Auditorium/WSU?)
