I took this photo last year, on a drive out to the stables where Julia rides, on the day Nelson Mandela died–it was the most spectacular one I have ever seen. Of course, I thought of “Sundog, Minnesota!” Today, with our sub-zero greeting to 2015, I am glad to think of this fierce cold generating beauty!
